Spartan Travel Update

With the ongoing quarantine and our inability to have tryouts or even a workout, it has become necessary for us to defer our upcoming 8U and 10U travel seasons. Our existing 12U Spartan Wrath and 14U Spartan Elite travel teams will be following CDC, state and local government guidelines in hopes to resume their season as soon as it is allowable.

Building the Foundation
Our goal is to build our 8U and 10U programs during the Spring / Summer months with clinics and workouts in preparation for the Fall season. As we navigate through May and June, we will have a better sense of when we will be able to schedule field time and eventually tryouts for the 2021 season, which begins September 1st with the Fall Hudson-Mohawk (Hud-Mo) Travel League.

Coaches Needed
In order for us to even field 8U and 10U teams for the Fall, we need coaches and volunteers. We are actively looking for individuals that can connect with our girls and teach them the fundamentals of the game. You don’t have to have previous travel coaching experience to be considered. If you can make the girls laugh while they’re doing drills, you’re the person we want to speak with.

What is Travel Ball?
If your daughter has never played travel softball, below are some of the differences between the levels and what you can expect for the Fall and Spring seasons.

8U - Max age 12/31/12
• 11” softball is used
• USA softball umpires
• Coach pitches for all games
• Score is kept
• 8 game Fall season
• 12 game Spring season
• Summer tournaments in June and July

10U - Max age 12/31/10
• 11” softball is used
• USA softball umpires
• Girls pitch for all games
• Score is kept
• 8 game Fall season
• 12 game Spring season
• Fall tournaments in October
• Summer tournaments in May, June and July
